Pain Management
Interventional radiology pain management is designed to directly delivery therapy to the source of pain with pinpoint accuracy. These procedures are performed to alleviate inflammation within the body’s joints, soft tissues and bone structures for more effective, lasting relief.
Joint Pain
Pain within the hips, knees, ankles, heels, elbows and shoulders are treated with several different techniques, including steroid injections or facet injections. These reduce inflammation and relieve pain within tendons and soft tissues inside the joints. We also treat sacroiliac (SI) joint pain caused by pregnancy, weigh gain, arthritis and other conditions, as well as pain within the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
Spinal Injections
Conditions within the spine, such as a herniated disc, can cause inflammation that puts pressure on the nerves, resulting in numbness, tingling or pain. We perform a series of epidural and facet injections that treat the inflammation with lasting effects. Lower back and leg pain caused by swelling around the sympathetic plexus can also be treated.
Rhizotomy
A procedure to sever nerve roots in the spinal cord, rhizotomy effectively relieves chronic back pain and muscle spasms. It is also used to treat spinal joint pain by disabling the sensory nerve at the facet joint. The pain relief provided by this procedure lasts for months or even years.
