Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)

Uterine fibroids are benign (non-cancerous) tumors that grow on or within the lining of the uterus. They can range in size from as small as a grape to as large as a cantaloupe. Approximately 20-40% of women over age 35 have fibroids, and African-American women are at a much higher risk for developing them.

Pelvic Congestion

Pelvic congestion syndrome is a painful condition caused by enlarged or varicose veins in the pelvis. It can result in chronic, dull pain, which becomes more pronounced when standing up, but which may ease when lying down.

Prostate Artery Embolization for BPH

Benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH), also called prostate enlargement, occurs more frequently in men over 40 years of age.

Symptoms of BPH
When the prostate grows larger, it can result in symptoms such as frequent urination, difficulty urinating, weak stream and loss of bladder control. If this becomes a problem, there are treatment options.
