Accounting Manager

Responsibilities:
- Lead the accounting department, including managing, training, and developing accounting staff.
- Oversee accurate and timely monthly closes with thorough reviews of staff work and issue summaries for senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with tax deadlines and manage cash positions across entities.
- Approve AP processing, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, projections, and forecasts with periodic variance reporting against same.
- Prepare financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and relevance for decision-making.
- Ensure appropriateness of and maintain internal controls.
- Provide periodic reporting on profitability, ROI, and financial performance to stakeholders.
- Complete valuations in accordance with shareholder and entity operating agreements.
- Review payroll processing and serve as back-up as needed; Review payroll tax returns and related reconciliations.
- Oversee and assist with benefit administration and retirement calculations.
- Assist in year-end schedules for tax preparation; Research and resolve tax issues, maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Assist with external audits.
- Effectively interface with physicians, senior management, employees from other departments, and vendors.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role (healthcare industry or tax experience preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations; Knowledge of benefit administration and accounting a plus.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional professionalism, confidentiality, and teamwork skills.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality, positive attitude and teamwork.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Sage Intacct accounting system experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint skills. Ability to learn new programs quickly.

Pay Range
Pay range of $95,000-$140,000 depending on experience
