Quality of Care, Meets Quality of Life

AMIC doctors and staff live and work in one of the most desirable locations in the United States. In addition to having one of the best four-seasons playground right in our backyard, the city of Fort Collins and the surrounding communities consistently rank among the nation’s “Best Places to Live.” (See below)

What is it that people find so special about living here? In a word, balance.

The Colorado lifestyle is about striving for the perfect balance between work and life… and many of us believe that our city and state affords us the unique opportunity to achieve just that. We’re small enough to avoid the typical problems of a large metropolitan area—traffic, congestion, smog, etc… but large enough to have all of the amenities of modern living –culture, art, shopping, theater, great restaurants, breweries and wineries, and more.

When we need our big city fix, Denver is just an hour south of us. And when we need to get away from it all, the mountains are just a few miles west of us. We truly have it all in this part of the world, and if this sounds like a place you want to live, you won’t be disappointed!

Here is just a small sampling of things to do in our area:

Rocky Mountain National Park

Less than one hour from Fort Collins, enjoy 415 square miles of this protected alpine nature reserve with over 300 miles of hiking trails, pristine lakes, colorful wildflowers, unique wildlife and majestic views. Established in 1915 by President Woodrow Wilson, Rocky Mountain National Park is now a World Biosphere Reserve—achieving a balanced and sustainable relationship between visitors and nature.

Hiking And Cycling Close To Home

Northern Colorado offers over 60 hiking, running, cycling, or mountain biking trails that are only a short distance from home. Rocky Mountain National Park also offers trails and mountain climbs that are truly breath taking. Whether you’re craving a glacier-carved valley, waterfalls, or open spaces in the iconic Rocky Mountains, you don’t have to go far and you don’t have to deal with crowds and traffic.

Breweries, breweries and more breweries!

Fort Collins and surrounding Northern Colorado communities are home to some of the best and most unique breweries in America. More than 20 craft and production breweries dot our landscape, including New Belgium Brewing, Odell Brewing Company, Anheuser-Busch and Crooked Stave. Most breweries offer taprooms and tours, and most area restaurants feature these exceptional local brews.

Old Town Fort Collins

There’s something for everyone in Old Town/Downtown Fort Collins. In addition to 84 restaurants, there are plenty of shops, cafes, bars, art galleries and more. In Old Town Square, live music can be experienced, and the young ones will enjoy riding the only original trolley car still operating in the western United States.

World-class winter sports

Whether you prefer skiing, boarding, snowshoeing, telemarking, snowmobile riding or ice skating, Colorado is a winter sports paradise. Exceptional mountains and mountain resorts can be found throughout the state less than two hours from Ft. Collins!
